I have always been a supporter of Vietnam
veterans they were given a raw deal by this
country and they were only doing a job they
were called to do by there stinking
government. so instead of supporting the
boys you have this people protesting calling
them baby killers etc. well I'd like to see
what these people would do if confronted
with the same situation a kid normally known
for being skinny suddenly bulks up something
is definitely fishy. its either kill or be
killed. What's more you have people like
Hanoi Jane downing the boys i always said if
i would ever see her face to face i would
punch her in the snoot. she had absolutely
no right to say those things about our boys
and kiss north Vietnamese asses (excuse my
French). i have a boat load of friends who
are Vietnam vets and i think the world of
them. and they of me. I am also married to a
vet so i unstained the stigma of being a
Vietnam veteran WELCOME HOME BOYS!!!!!

Great idea ! Too late for some, I hope I
live to see it. Someone in anger once told
me " You should never have walked out of
Vietnam, *----- *----- ! " They didn't
understand that part of me never did leave
Vietnam .

FANTASTIC WEBSITE-FANTASTIC EVENT !! I
would very much like to do whatever i could
in my home state of Pennsylvania to help
support this event. I am a namvet "69",and
have been involved in a proposed national
project,dedicated to the vietnam vet.Its
called "FIRE BASE EAGLE".This will be a
vietnam war history center, that will include
a replica firebase,vietnamese
village,pow/mia site,helo lz,contact
bldg,memorial gardens,tunnel complex,bunkers
etc,.To be located on approx. 30 acres. We
are a small group of veterans and others who
support our cause. We hope to create a site
that will first of all honor the vietnam vet
and veterans of all wars. And secondly to
create an interactive site that will serve
to educate the public now and into the
future. I hope with all my heart that
WELCOME HOME DAY is a smashing success and
that our nation shows its support.I hope
also that your event will bring attention to
our project as well. Its difficult trying to
gather the funding and assistance needed to
see this project through. Please take a
moment to check out our site at
www.firebaseeagle.org and let us know what
you think.GOD BLESS YOU ALL,WE ARE PRAYING
FOR YOU

disabled. You might like to visit my site
and read of the Australian experience, and
perhaps help a small group of disabled vets
in a local battle against gutless
bureaucracy by signing an on-line petition
when you get there. Regards.

Welcome Home Day already happened...On
July 4th, 1987... a massive concert in
Washington DC that began as a big concert in
L.A. the year before...and declared the
official welcome home day of the Vietnam
vets by Congress, and signed by all the
Vietnam vets in Congress, including John
Kerry. The show aired for months on HBO
(thanks Chris Albrecht) and raised millions
for vet causes. I was there for the whole
thing, as my mother, Joey Talley, was the
creator and exec producer. So...why are you
doing this?

lilmaverick@comcast.net is incorrect. A
proclamation supporting the event was
issued, but it did not declared that day as
the official welcome home day of Vietnam
Vets. The text of the resolution follows:
RESOLUTION
Expressing appreciation for America's
Vietnam veterans.
Whereas nearly three million Americans
served their country in Vietnam during the
period of the Vietnam war;
Whereas over fifty-eight thousand
Americans gave their lives in that war, and
thousands more suffered injuries in the
course of combat;
Whereas the sacrifices of Vietnam
veterans were not adequately recognized or
rewarded by their country upon their return
from Vietnam;
Whereas the people of the United States
have recognized, through the construction of
the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington,
District of Columbia and through other
events, that an enormous debt of gratitude
is owed to our Nation's Vietnam veterans;
Whereas many Vietnam veterans continue to
have ongoing needs for adequate food,
shelter, and health care; Whereas the Fourth
of July, being our national Independence
Day, is an appropriate day to take note of
the sacrifices and contributions of Vietnam
veterans and to honor them;
Whereas a Welcome Home concert honoring
Vietnam veterans and raising funds for the
benefit of Vietnam veterans will be held in
our Nation's capital on July 4, 1987; and
Whereas this benefit concert is an
appropriate and fitting way to honor
America's Vietnam veterans: Now, therefore,
be it
Resolved, That the United States
expresses its profound gratitude, and that
of the entire Nation, for the contributions
and the sacrifices of all Vietnam veterans;
and be it further Resolved, That the
Secretary of the Senate shall transmit a
copy of this resolution to the President of
the United 6 States

I am trying to locate someone who knew
Michael Heath. He was in Vietnam from Sept.
17th to May 31, 1969, when he was killed.
Michael was with B Co. 3rd platoon, 1/12th
of the 4th Infantry Division. Anyone with
information, please email me, as I am
helping Michael's sister, Laurie, try to
find out what happened to him, and things
that the family just need to know. Thank
you, Delbert Singleton
