OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR GARY E. JOHNSON A MESSAGE FROM GARY E. JOHNSON, On behalf of the residents of the great State of New Mexico, in conjunction with the Welcome Home Day Foundation, I am pleased to acknowledge the courage, sacrifice, honor and positive achievements of our nation's Vietnam veterans and their families, and firmly represent that we proudly welcome them home. Over 300,000 men were wounded, 75,000 severely disabled, and of the 58,000 killed, 399 were from the State of New Mexico. And, least we not forget the pain, struggles and sacrifices of their parents, siblings, mates and children.
